Research Profile
Marco Favino is a postdoctoral assistant at the Institute of Computational Science of the Università della Svizzera italiana. He obtained a M.Sc. Degree (Laurea Magistrale) in Mathematical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and a Ph.D. degree in Computational Science at Università della Svizzera italiana.
Marco's work is devoted to computational mechanics with material inhomogenities. In his PhD thesis, he developed an efficient solution method for the simulation of poroelastic materials with volumetric growth. His current work is focused on the electro-mechanical coupling in the cardiac tissue employing an active strain formulation.
